Canon has finally introduced its first consumers HD camcorder. This camera records in the HDV video format. The HV10 packs a lot of functionality into a 0.97-pound package, including a 2.96-megapixel CMOS sensor, 2.7-inch widescreen LCD display, true HD CMOS sensor (1920 x 1080), 10x zoom with optical image stabilization and a miniSD card slot. Available September 2006, priced at $1300. Although street pricing is expected to be closer to $1000 USD.
